Which credit cards with rewards are the best?
As people become more sophisticated in their use of credit cards, it has become more common for them to want more from their credit cards than just basic purchasing power. One of the most popular additions to the credit card is that of the cash back or reward card. These are designed to offer a points system, and with points come not prizes but air miles, money back on purchases, and even vouchers for particular companies. There are so many rewards that it can be hard to work out which is the right one for you.
What are the different types of rewards credit cards?
There are three main types of credit cards which offer rewards to borrowers. The most common are the cash back cards, offering money in exchange for a number of purchasers. The most familiar to the popular imagination is the air miles, or Avios, reward system, which provides reduced air fares as the reward. Another category of credit cards allows borrowers to claim back vouchers and other discounts from high-street retaillers such as Sainsbury's or Tesco. All of these reward systems come with some advantages, and some negatives, so what you want from the rewards package may not be all that influences you when it comes to choosing the right credit card.
What are air miles credit cards?
If you travel a great deal, then air miles earnt through this type of credit card can be the ideal reward for you. These credit cards are often used by business travellers, or those who have family overseas, and can make spending money worthwhile. These rewards are earned in the form of points, formerly known as Air Miles and now known as Avios miles. On the plus side, these points are easy to earn and easy to redeem. The downside is that many of the credit cards are high-rate cards, and there are limited benefits to go alongside the air miles rewards. In addition, if you have poor credit, then you are unlikely to be eligible for these rewards, and may be better off considering other credit cards which can help to build up your rating.
